Cohort 9 · 2025–2026

Check-Up Sports was selected for Cohort 9 of the Texas Tech Accelerator at the Research Park Innovation Hub — and came out of the program with a $25,000 investment.
The program
The Texas Tech Accelerator backs early-stage companies coming out of and around the university, pairing them with mentorship, facilities and capital. Cohort 9 ran across 2025–2026 alongside twelve other companies working on everything from diagnostics to sensor development.
For us it meant sharpening the pitch, pressure-testing the business model, and getting the platform in front of people who'd never picked up a basketball but knew exactly what a two-sided marketplace needs to survive.
What the money does
The $25,000 goes straight into the things that move the product: payments infrastructure for hosts, court booking tooling for facilities, and the game tools that let organizers run and broadcast their own events.
Being backed by a research university in the middle of Texas basketball country isn't a coincidence. It's exactly the market we're building for.
