The 85 South Show puts Check-Up on Black Market
Feature
In July 2022, the 85 South Show featured Check-Up on Black Market — the segment where the crew puts products in front of one of comedy's loudest audiences.
This was early. The app was a fraction of what it is now: no ticketing, no court bookings, no ScoreCam. What it did have was the idea — find a run near you, see who's playing, and pull up.
Why it still matters
Getting in front of that audience taught us something the roadmap couldn't: people immediately understood the problem. Nobody needed the pitch explained. Everyone had a story about a gym they couldn't get into or a run they found out about too late.
Years later the platform has grown into events, ticketing, bookings, broadcast tools and a social feed — but the pitch on Black Market is still the pitch. Find the run. Get in the gym.
